CODE NAME: PERSIAN SWORD

An 18 Day Training, Wargame & International Crisis Simulation

The simulation is based on a crisis emerging in the Middle East and the United States, Russia, Iran, and Israel find themselves competing for power, influence, and dominance in the region. 

 

The world’s Great Powers have fought over the Middle East for centuries... In Persian Sword, anything can happen. Customize your strategy, then use your military, political, covert, economic, and diplomatic tools to shape the region, ensure stability, and, most of all, secure your place as the region’s premier power!

 

You will be assigned to one of four Intelligence & Diplomacy Teams and assume one of the four below roles in this dynamic, exciting, real world war game and simulation:

 

D - Diplomatic. Engage your allies, negotiate with your adversaries.

 

I - Information. Use your covert, cyber, and propaganda tools.

 

M - Military. Position your forces and engage your opponents.

 

E - Economic. Use trade and currency to achieve your goals.

 

Learn how Diplomacy and Intelligence work 

• Utilize tools of statecraft and compete with your rivals to achieve your strategic goals. 

• Use the Diplomatic, Informational, Military, and Economic (DIME) Framework to try to analyze, understand, and deal with the evolving international crisis. 

• Face the strategic, political, economic, and military realities in dealing with an ever evolving and complex situation. 

• Work with your team will decide on policy actions, pursue information about the crisis, and negotiate with rivals or allies as you plan your strategy.

• BLUF style writing. Learn the “bottom line up front” approach to writing, used by intelligence professionals to communicate complex assessments in a clear and direct way.

• DIME Strategic Integration. Learn about integrated strategy by utilizing the all four instruments of national power: Diplomacy, Information, Military, and Economy.

• Intelligence Analysis Techniques and Tools including Structured Analytical Techniques. 

• Regional understanding.  Learn about the challenges surrounding stability in the Middle East, and the tools that nation states can use to project power in the area.

A FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION: Can I work or go to school full time and still participate? 

• YES, definitely, the first weekend of PERSIAN SWORD will be the most intense because of the level of training and it's the beginning of the crisis simulation and wargame. We ask that you reserve time over that weekend to be fully engaged. Outside of that first weekend this training, crisis simulation, and wargame will not impact school or work. 

• You are broken up into teams and you work on your own schedule. Teams will have access to chats so you can communicate with your fellow Intelligence Analysts/Diplomats without disrupting work or school schedules. Teams decide on assignments and team meetings so it can work around your schedule. 

• You are also given access to our crisis simulation and wargame portal where you will see the world of PERSIAN SWORD unfold and will receive intelligence drops and other key information. Along with your team you will be able to work and make strategic moves based on evolving situations.  

• Through the simulation portal you can work on your own time and coordinate with your team. There will be team briefings during the crisis simulation and war game but those are usually on the weekend or can be scheduled to fit everyone’s on team schedule. Throughout the crisis simulation and war game there will be some training but this is flexible based on you and your team schedule. After the training you are given access to training materials you can read and look at on your own time during the training, crisis simulation, and wargame.

• We designed PERSIAN SWORD to be a longer crisis simulation and wargame with people's work, school and personal life in mind. Many of our training sessions are intense and short and people love them but always wish they had more time. PERSIAN SWORD allows you as the participant to have more time to train, participate, test your skills, and see the crisis and war game unfold based on you and your team's strategy.
